Closest International Airports:

1. Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD)
Located in Dulles, Virginia, this is one of the major international airports serving the Washington, D.C.,  metropolitan area.

2. Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI) - Situated in Baltimore, Maryland, BWI is another key international airport that serves the region.

3. Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA) - Although primarily serving domestic flights, DCA handles some international flights and is the closest airport to downtown Washington, D.C.

Transportation Options:

From Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD):

Driving: The drive typically takes about 35-45 minutes, depending on traffic.  

Uber/Lyft: Both services are available from the airport. The ride can cost between $40 to $70, varying by time of day and demand. 

Taxi: Taxis are readily available and the fare to the Hilton might range from $60 to $90. 

Train: The Silver Line Express Bus connects the airport to the Wiehle-Reston East Metro Station, where you can catch the Silver Line Metro to Metro Center, then transfer to the Red Line towards Shady Grove, getting off at the Twinbrook Station. The Hilton is a short ride or walk from there. 

From Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI):

Driving: The journey usually takes about 50 minutes to an hour. Car rentals are available at the airport. 

Uber/Lyft: A ride from BWI to the Hilton might cost between $60 to $100. 

Taxi: Expect to pay around $90 to $120 for a taxi. 

Train: BWI offers a shuttle to the BWI Rail Station, where you can take the MARC or Amtrak trains to Union Station in D.C., then switch to the Red Line Metro towards Shady Grove, getting off at Twinbrook Station. 

From Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA):

Driving: It typically takes about 25-35 minutes, traffic depending. Car rental services are available. 

Uber/Lyft: The fare for a ride to the Hilton will likely be in the range of $30 to $50. 

Taxi: A taxi ride can cost between $40 and $60. 

Train: DCA is directly connected to the Metro. You can take the Yellow Line towards Fort Totten, transfer at Gallery Place to the Red Line towards Shady Grove, and get off at Twinbrook Station.
